Working with United Industries Company (UIC), United Oil Projects (UOP) acquired a majority shareholding in the Al-Khorayef Company Kuwait in 2007 to expand its business by leveraging joint local influence and financial strength.

Al-Khorayef Company sells, maintains and repairs oil production equipment. From inception, the company has offered pumping services to the state owned upstream company Kuwait Oil Company, the Joint Operation in Wafra and the Ministry of Electricity and Water. The company operates on 85% of the KOC and Joint Operations wells.

Al-Khorayef key facts:

• Specializes in the supply of Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESP) for both water and oil applications.
• Currently expanding operations to include the recovery of heavy oil. At the beginning of 2008, Al-Khorayef was awarded a contract by KOC to implement the Lower Fars Pilot Project (LFPP) to produce Kuwait's first heavy crude from the northern Ratqa field.
• Incorporated in 1998 as a part of the Al-Khorayef Commercial in Saudi Arabia.
